Skipper – Gavin Solly

Gavin Solly is proud owner aswell as skipper and as everyone knows he takes great pride in both the vessels and work ethics onboard. Gav has been taking clients out from Kangaroo Island and beyond for over 10 years. His career on the water started early when he left school at a very young age to begin employment on a prawn trawler in South Australia.
From there to long liners off Coffs Harbor and also prawn trawlers up North and PNG. Then leaving Oz to travel the globe and end up becoming a 2nd
engineer on an international 172 foot motor yacht on several successful European and Caribbean seasons.
Gav is there from start to finish of your experience from a hand on, to jump onboard to; putting you on the right spot for the fish, to; teaching the less experienced how to fish and giving tips to the fisherpersons whom spends a lot of time fishing and boating.
Most of our current cliental are in fact repeat clients whom have been joining Gavin as a skipper for several years and keep coming back to fish with the skipper, due to his reputable experience, knowledge and care of the patrons having the best day out on the water possible!

Crew – Donovan Whale

Deckhand and guide, Donovan Whale AKA Dono, is very experienced seaman having worked on cray-boats for almost a decade before coming to us, around Kangaroo Island. During this period he was also employed on Kangaroo Island Ferries and previous to that shark boats in the South East and Prawn trawlers in PNG and Cape York. Dono holds a Master 5 ticket and has been with us for sometime now and he’s always committed to keep you baited up, take fish off, and too keep you all smiling!
